If you are a Psychologist or LCSW licensed in the state of Nevada and the best of the best, do we have a place for you with our team! This position has a little something for everyone. You’ll take the lead in project coordination and use communication skills to rally your team to meet the needs of dually-diagnosed patients in the community that are traditionally treatment resistant. With a bent toward action and the ability to influence and collaborate with various stakeholders, you’ll help your clients where they live to develop and implement treatment plans to mitigate adverse behaviors that negatively impact their life. A seasoned clinician, you’ll be patient-focused and intuitive on how best to support your clients.

Northern Nevada HOPES is a community health and wellness center serving the Northern Nevada area. We are a non-profit community health center located in a historic and quaint area of downtown Reno, Nevada. The Community Therapist will provide clinical behavioral health services in a manner that is consistent with HOPES’ mission and quality standards. The Community Therapist will serve the dual role of program coordination and community therapeutic services. This role will include utilizing evidence-based treatment in the community setting to reach a traditionally service-resistant population to assess and develop treatment plans. The Community Therapist will function as a vital liaison with the other team members to ensure that patients are provided with supportive collateral resources and assessments necessary to achieve their highest positive health goals and to mitigate behavioral health issues that negatively impact the patient’s life.

Responsibilities will also include data gathering and reporting, problem resolution and overall coordination of this particular outreach program. The Community Therapist will routinely interface with internal and external stakeholders, engage in efforts to improve service delivery and collaborate with team members to reach program goals. This candidate will also participate in organization-wide Patient Centered Medical Home and Continuous Quality Improvement activities to enhance patient care.

Position Requirements

Specific things we're looking for:

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field, with a minimum of three to five years’ experience as a licensed clinical social worker or psychologist.
  • Licensure as a Psychologist or LCSW in the state of Nevada (or eligible)
  • Competency in providing cognitive and behavioral interventions to individuals, families, couples, children, and groups with behavioral health/substance abuse problems
  • Prior program coordination, data analysis, and reporting experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with primary care staff, patients, community stakeholders, referral resources and other behavioral health clinicians
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treat for substance abuse (SBIRT) and Evidence based treatment modalities for crisis interventions.
