Description

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises LGBTQ+ Program staff.

SUMMARY

Provides community outreach and client recruitment under the direct supervision of the Sanctuary Director. The LGBTQ+ Program Manager fosters an inclusive environment in which LGBTQ+ community members can thrive and access resources, evaluates and oversees the program to ensure meeting funding requirements, and ensures alignment with Fresno EOC Sanctuary and Youth Services program objectives.

Assist in the fulfillment of the agency's vision, 'For Those We Serve,' by empowering individuals who thrive as healthy, self-sufficient and contributing members of our communities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Coordinates the development and implementation of program elements.

Promotes the program through the use of social media and on-line communication. Builds relationships with local and regional media outlets to promote positive exposure of project.

Delivers presentations on LGBTQ+ issues.

Acts as liaison to local, state, regional, and national agencies, networks, and government agencies and attends all required and related conferences and meetings.

Conducts personnel processes such as recruitment, selection, orientation, performance evaluation, corrective action, documentation, and termination and make recommendations as needed.

Coordinates outreach events for the LGBTQ+ community, including partnering with local agencies.

Responsible for the scheduling of staff to ensure accurate service delivery, community events, and outreach opportunities are covered appropriately.

Attends monthly management trainings, program-related community trainings/conferences and other meetings as assigned.

Works with Marketing and Communications team to create marketing materials for the program.

Acts as a representative of Sanctuary programs in the community.

Oversees and monitors the program expenditures (i.e. purchase orders, petty cash) and budget.

Assists in developing future program budget projections. Coordinates receipt of donations, and ensures necessary recognition of donors.

Ensures timely completion and submission of information/reports regarding program activities.

Oversees data collection, data input into appropriate database systems, and evaluation of data activities.

Completes all grant reporting requirements in a timely manner. Assists in completion of grant applications or providing necessary data for them, as requested.

Maintains expertise in LGBTQ+ services, policy and law, and advocacy issues and provides further training and technical assistance to staff and organizations on stated topics.

Analyzes LGBTQ+ program goals, objectives, and activities and make recommendations for programmatic actions to promote optimal operation, standardized services, and ethical compliance when working with clients.

Maintains and adheres to the confidentiality policy regarding clients.

Travels for agency business using personal/agency vehicle.

Works evenings and weekends as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED.

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Victimology, Social Work or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Work experience may substitute required education on a year-by-year basis.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3 years of experience required.

Minimum of 3 years work experience in the LGBTQ field highly preferred.

Two years of direct staff supervision preferred.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Grant writing experience strongly preferred.

Experience and active involvement in the LGBTQ+ community.

Established working relationships with LGBTQ+ agencies highly desirable.

Knowledge of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) and other sexual and gender minority (SGM) communities.

Ability to work with people from different professional settings, including community advocacy.

Knowledge of the barriers facing LGBTQ+ community members.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software.

Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Bilingual English/Spanish or other secondary language preferred.

Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.

Ability to work well with youth/teens and diverse population, and with contracted service providers and representatives of partnering agencies.

Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, adequate auto insurance as required by State law.
