The Systems Administrator will primarily develop the overall design and implementation, of virtual & physical desktop environment, software distribution infrastructure, product lifecycle management, and desktop security. You’ll be self-motivated and driven to find improvements while working with the day to day assignments. What is a day in the life of a Systems Administrator?

Ascentis is a growing company, so there is never a dull day in the life of our Systems teams. You will help maintain stability of the current infrastructure as well as plan for future growth. Each day you will be focused on:

  • Defining hardware standards, engineering and securing the standard desktop platform.
  • Implementation of policies and procedures to ensure consistency with company goals, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate breadth of knowledge across multiple areas of information technology and will be a key team member on strategic enterprise-wide technology projects.
  • Providing premier customer service focusing on the end-user experience at all times.
  • Supporting end-user’s VPN and two-factor authentication configuration.
  • Consistently update the ticketing system, ensuring proper documentation of all work effort.
  • Creating KB articles for any work that the Service Desk Team is not familiar with.
  • Supporting Windows 10, Mac OS X, iPads, and mobile phones including iPhones and Android phones.
  • Supporting enterprise level video conferencing utilizing hosted technology.
  • Office 365 and Active Directory Management and support for Ascentis Team members.
  • Configure and deploy Windows 7/10 and Mac OS X through imaging technologies including Config Manager (SCCM), PXE Boot, User State Migration, and provisioning process and stand-alone processes.
  • Generating Asset reports on hardware and software.
  • End-user and Server Hardware configuration, monitoring, tuning, patching and ensuring high availability of infrastructure.
 
Position Requirements

What are we looking for in a candidate?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Enterprise systems and networks
  • Able to work individually as well as in a team environment
  • Expert level knowledge and experience with Microsoft Config Manager (SCCM) and utilizing Microsoft SQL Reporter
  • Experience supporting both Windows and Apple computers as well as mobile devices
  • Experience with engineering solutions to address business problems and enhancing/improving the end user experience
  • Experience with PowerShell to automate common tasks
  • Knowledge of and experience with reporting and automated ticket flow within Atlassian’s Jira Ticketing System is a plus
  • Casper/JAMF experience a plus
  • Knowledge of and experience with Python scripting is a plus

  • Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills
