Job Title: Machinist

Location: Morrisville, PA

Duties and Responsibilities

The Machinist is the advanced level position within the Machine/Tooling Shop. Under the direction of the Vice President of Engineering, this position is responsible for the building and assembly of extrusions dies and the programming and operation of the CNC mill and Charmillies Wire EDM.

Operations and Responsibilities:

  • Proficiently operate such equipment as lathes, grinders, milling machines and drill presses as needed to install, maintain and repair production tooling.
  • Program, set up and run the EDM wire machine. Potentially train others in the programming and set up of the CNC mill and wire EDM’s
  • Work with the Engineering Department to build and assemble dies according to specifications and blueprints and the ability to build more complex parts and dies.
  • Effectively troubleshoots machine problems through knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic sub-assemblies.
  • Assist in the installation of new machinery, the preventative maintenance program and technical problems, including electrical and mechanical to eliminate manufacturing difficulties.
  • Assures that employees are provided with proper training and safe use of equipment, maintained tools, machines and equipment.
  • Assures that all Health and Safety Requirements are observed and that areas are maintained in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including some holidays and weekends if necessary.
  • Maintain awareness on company objectives for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
  • Completes other various duties as assigned or required by management.


  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years hands-on experience as a machinist or
  • Experience as a Machinist 2 and/or graduated and completed two years of training as a Machinist at either a technical or community college.
  • Able to read blueprints and specifications.
  • Able to perform more complicated mathematical computations.
  • Able to use calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
  • Physical Demands
  • Moving and lifting objects up to 60 lbs
  • Walking, standing on concrete 8+ hrs/day
  • Sitting/working at a CAM station
  • Work Environment
  • Machine Shop environment with machinery noise, occasional odors of coolant, oils and machined metals
