Security Officer (3rd Shift) 


Mystic Seaport is looking for a full-time Security Officer. The shift runs from 11 PM- 7 AM.

The primary responsibilities are:

  • Provide security services as directed
  • Provide assistance to fellow officers as needed/requested
  • Provide crowd control or other assistance during emergencies
  • Provide supplemental patrols of Museum property
  • Communicate to the Shift Supervisor any hazards or infractions observed
  • Provide access control as directed
  • Provide assistance to employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
Position Requirements
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous security experience a plus
  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
  • Has ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
  • Has ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Has effective oral and written communication skills
  • Has active listening skills
  • Has ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Has ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Has attention to detail
  • First Aid/CPR training preferred

Morgan, America's oldest commercial ship still in existence.
