What are we looking for in a Therapist?

Therapists at Comprehensive utilize evidence-based practices to provide clients and their families with support in learning new skills and connecting to community resources. Counseling and skill development may be provided through individual or group sessions, depending on need. Therapist positions require excellent listening and communication skills, as well as a desire to collaborate to assist each client with reaching his or her recovery goals. Training and clinical supervision in the provision of evidenced-based practices is provided as part of this position.

This position is located at the Competency Restoration Program, a twenty-four bed secure residential treatment program that serves male adults who have, due to a mental illness, been deemed by the court to be unable to aid and assist in court proceedings regarding current pending criminal charges. The goal of this program is to offer residents treatment and educational opportunities in order to prepare them to be able to fully aid and assist in their own defense. Services provided are offered in a multidisciplinary team approach in which collaboration and teamwork is heavily emphasized. The program will employ evidence-based practices that are trauma-informed and proven to be effective educational and treatment methods. This position has a regular Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm work schedule.

Therapist duties may include:

  • providing individual and family therapy
  • facilitating behavioral health groups
  • completing mental health intakes and assessments
  • collaborating with each client to create an individualized treatment plan
  • providing crisis evaluation and intervention
  • assisting with case management as needed
  • thorough and timely completion of required clinical documentation
 
Position Requirements

Education/Experience: Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.

Professional Credentials: Eligible for Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.
