Email Opening Title Volunteer Athletic Coach  Category Parks & Recreation   Description Volunteer Athletic Coach - Various sports (Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, etc) Primary Responsibility: To coach designated sport teams and create a positive learning environment where children learn sportsmanship, fundamental skills, teamwork, and responsibility. Supervised by:Youth Programs Coordinator Supervises:n/a Main Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a role model for youth in a sports program focused on sportsmanship, fun, skill development and character development. Develop enjoyable and creative practice plans for youth participants. Provide and maintain a safe environment for all participants. Enforce program rules and department policies; provide conflict resolution and behavior management when necessary. Attend all mandatory trainings and workshops. Be accountable and prepared for all practices and games including equipment management and parent communication. Report any problems with fields, equipment, player behavior, parent behavior, or officials to the Youth Programs Coordinator.   Position Requirements Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age. Knowledgeable in the specific sport preferred. Ability to work and communicate well with children and adults. Be available at the times when games, practices, and meetings are held. Must pass background check. Experience: Experience working with children and adults of various ages preferred.
