Description

JOB SUMMARY:

In alignment with the organization’s mission and departmental goals, the Volunteer and Events Coordinator will be responsible for the management and execution of development events, with primary focus given to the Guardian Angel Dinner Dance (GADD). Recruit, coordinate, and provide direction and guidance to volunteers who desire to donate their time and talents to the agency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Work closely with the Director of Development and Marketing and Development & Marketing Manager while coordinating all event aspects; including strategy, planning and execution of GADD.
    • Maintain event management software for website content updates
    • Build relationships with key supporters and prospective donors
    • Solicit and secure support through sponsorships, ad placements, in-kind donations and monetary donations
    • Act as liaison between organizations, vendors, supporters, attendees, honorees and committee members
    • Responsible for event budgeting, purchasing, and invoicing
    • Track support; produce needed reports and paperwork
    • Monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met
    • Research, update and run reports from donor database
    • Coordinate marketing collateral updates and efforts
  2. Oversee three County Boards to align with agency fundraising goals.
  3. Recruit and manage volunteers for committees, boards etc.
  4. Organize and Coordinate Volunteer Days of Caring.
  5. Assist and support Development and Marketing Manager as needed.
  6. Provide support to other Development & Marketing events.
  7. Other duties assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with managing events, soliciting gifts, stewarding donors, and supervising volunteers.
  • Superior project and time management skills with ability to maintain multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational as well as verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as cooperatively with the team.
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in Marketing, Bachelor’s degree in Marketing preferred. 3-5 years’ experience in related position preferred. Strong knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office, eTapestry and OneCause. Ability to travel locally and work occasional nights and weekends.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS NEEDED: Valid driver’s license
