Primary Objective of Position

The Manufacturing Associate I is responsible for the processing of commercial products at the Gainesville Site. This includes receiving order instructions (Batch Records), weighing and staging of materials, solution preparation, solution application (coating beads), drying, screening, machine set-up, sampling, packaging, and storing of the products.

Major Duties/Responsibilities

· Receive and Review Order Instructions (Batch Records)

· Weigh and Stage Raw Materials

· Prepare Solutions and Suspensions

· Apply IR, DR, SR, or TB Bead Coatings

· Dry and Screen IR, DR, SR, or TB Beads

· Seal and Store the product

· Operate, Clean, and Set-up processing equipment

· All other duties as assigned by management

To support primary responsibilities, the Manufacturing Associate I is also responsible for:

· Collection of waste and cleaning of rooms and equipment.

· Completion of all documentation.

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Job Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

    Experience 

   Six (6) months manufacturing or technical experience preferred.

Licenses, Certificates, Registrations

GA Work Ready Certificate – Bronze Level

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Basic computer skills

Language/Reading Ability:

Ability to independently read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write and complete batch record documentation. Ability to identify details that may not be clearly stated. Using the reading material context, figure out the definition of words not given to them. Apply multiple step instructions to a task that is the same or similar as the one they are reading about (i.e., performing major cleaning steps on two different machines). Select the correct actions when operational conditions change. (i.e. ability to follow “if-then” statements).

Math Ability:

Ability to solve problems that require one or two operations (add and subtract, add and multiply, subtract and divide, or multiply and divide using several positive or negative numbers – ((12+10-5)/3). Ability to solve problems that require simple ratios, multiple fractions with common denominators, and common fractions or percentages (i.e., add 1/3 + .4 + 50% or multiply 30.6 * 5/8). Ability to arrange problem information into the right order before performing the calculations (i.e., selecting what information needs to be added before dividing the sum).

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to determine which details are important to remember.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to lift and carry objects, reach in multiple directions with hands and arms, and use hands to handle, finger or feel objects. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must have corrected visual acuity of 20/40 or better bilaterally.            Must be able to pass color/contrast testing passing 9 of 12 elements and must be able to pass a peripheral assessment at 80º or better.

The employee must be able to pass a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and regularly be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as a respirator (Bullard, 3M) for extended periods of time.

The employee must occasionally (4-20% of the time) lift and /or move up to 50 pounds (drums). The employee must frequently (21-50% of the time) lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (racks and tanks on wheels, pallet jacks).

Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use English written and oral communication skills; interact appropriately with staff, management contractors, vendors and others encountered in the course of work; read and interpret a variety of documents and instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; analyze and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; establish priorities and work on multiple assignments and projects concurrently.

The employee is regularly required to apply computer skills covering word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.

The employee is regularly required to apply mathematical formulae and engineering rules of thumb to tasks and execute technical and engineering calculations.

Work Environment

As with all Recro positions, the person in this position is responsible for carrying out all duties in a safe and responsible manner.

In this assignment, the employee will regularly work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), with and around fumes or airborne particles, and with and around moving machinery. He/she will frequently work with toxic or caustic chemicals. He/she will occasionally work in high, precarious places such as on ladders or platforms and with equipment that may create dangerous or hazardous situations if proper procedures and safety protocols are not followed.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
