Description

SUMMARY:

Oversee all the phases of Business Execution. Provide PM oversight and leadership on select projects and programs and assist in driving improvements in on time performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes and manages the Integrated Product Teams for individual projects and all cross-functional areas critical to the success of the program as well as customer contacts, while maintaining an understanding of the value of the program under development or being executed for delivery to customers.
  • Directs all planning and monitors the activities of the cross-functional team required to meet program goals including completion of program deliverables during all phases. Establishes program plans, including projections of required resources (effort, duration, cost, personnel, facilities, and equipment). The Program Manger participates with other program managers and other functional areas in determining the business plan and project priorities, resource needs, and budgets based on the strategic directions.
  • Owns the established performance, schedule, budget and product cost, while managing within the given and dynamic constraints.
  • Provides periodic reports of program status and progress to management.
  • Provides program interface between operations, engineering, CBTs, manufacturing, and other key functions. Takes an active role in start of work, design reviews, and program reviews that are required by the contract.
  • Performs analysis and manages program risk and problems. Anticipates potential issues; implement related mitigation plans, and follow mitigation plans through to completion.
  • Works with functional managers and leads to establish projections of resources and skills necessary to execute the program. The Program Manager also works with the functional manager and leads to determine and manage the optimal work breakdown structure for the program and phase of the program. Provides input to functional managers on individual performance planning, including goal setting and performance feedback.
  • Ensures the quality, integrity, and timeliness of products and program deliverables. The Program Manager is expected to always be questioning/analyzing if any program deliverables are missing, and if the scope and content of program deliverables are optimized for the challenges in the program.
  • Adheres to quality and safety standards
  • Supports other accounting projects and duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

Bachelors in Science, MBA preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project or program management closely working with management, an engineering team, sales, the customer and manufacturing. Experience working with Army, DoD, and/or Federal Contracts programs/projects; Defense Acquisition program experience desired

OTHER JOB RELATED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication skills with strong ability to build and foster relationships
  • Detail-oriented, organized, able to work well both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong knowledge and previous experience with assembly process preferred
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced environment and under pressure
  • Strong analytical skills and strong working knowledge of project management tools
