Successful incumbents will have opportunities to work with their mentor on a research project, attend our Lunch ‘n' Learns and participate in the annual Ward Summer Student Research Day where they will have an opportunity to present their findings to the organization and its visitors. The student will be a member of the Autism Research Centre - an interdisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians focused on children and youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). While there will be the opportunity to work on a few different projects over the summer term, the student will specifically assist with the analysis of survey data and formulation of policy and advocacy recommendations based on the results. The student will also have the opportunity to observe ASD diagnostic assessments and will gain practical experience in working with children and youth with ASD as well as developing a repertoire of clinical research skills. Compensation Details The program runs for 12 weeks from May 6, 2019 - July 26, 2019. Students will be paid $14.00 per hour based on a 37.5 hour week (full-time), less statutory deductions, including 4% in lieu of vacation and relevant statutory holiday pay. Students will be paid biweekly through payroll. Key Responsibilities Data gathering, entry, analysis and report writing General administrative and clerical functions to support projects Knowledge translation for advocacy and policy recommendations Additional duties assigned as required Qualifications Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program.
