Successful incumbents will have opportunities to work with their mentor on a research project, attend our Lunch ‘n' Learns and participate in the annual Ward Summer Student Research Day where they will have an opportunity to present their findings to the organization and its visitors. The student will be a member of the Health Experiences and Arts Based Research Lab (HEART) led by Dr. Fiona Moola. The HEART lab at the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and the University of Toronto is dedicated to generating evidence on the role of the arts in the lives of young people with chronic illnesses and disabilities. Further, the HEART lab also fosters evidence on the role of Arts Based Research in the production of knowledge about health experiences. In this summer internship, the student will a) analyze data from the Telling my Tale National Storybook study, b) analyze data from a children's cancer camp study c) engage in an art historical analysis of disabilities' representation during the Renaissance and d) assist with ethics applications. Compensation Details The program runs for 12 weeks from May 6, 2019 - July 26, 2019. Students will be paid $14.00 per hour based on a 37.5 hour week (full-time), less statutory deductions, including 4% in lieu of vacation and relevant statutory holiday pay. Students will be paid biweekly through payroll.
