The Ascentis Accounting & Finance team is made up of driven professionals who came to Ascentis because they want to build processes that will have a lasting and measurable impact on the organization. What are the general responsibilities of the position?

  • Assist in the financial close processes in accordance with GAAP
  • Perform and review general ledger account reconciliations and research/analyze any discrepancies or irregularities.
  • Analyze accounting records, including financial statements, and financial reports to ensure accuracy, in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Create, document and review journal entries.
  • Assist in developing and documenting internal accounting controls and processes.
  • Perform routine daily accounting procedures including processing payments and receipts.
  • Various spreadsheet and research projects as needed.
 
Position Requirements

What are we looking for in a candidate?

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in accounting or audit roles
  • Extensive understanding of GAAP
  • Proficient in Excel and ERP systems
  • Public accounting background a plus
  • Detail-oriented, excellent time manager, driven work ethic, and ability to prioritize to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to successfully deal with questions and resolve issues
  • Strong critical thinking and organizational skills
  • Absolute integrity and use of good judgment to handle the confidential nature of duties, tasks, and information
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work closely with various departments
