Description

SUMMARY

Performs various types of general clerical duties such as reception, filing and data entry as needed within Agency programs. Position requires availability for short- and long-term assignments based on Agency needs.

Assist in the fulfillment of the agency's vision, 'For Those We Serve,' by empowering individuals to thrive as healthy, self-sufficient and contributing members of our communities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Uses multiple phone line system to answer calls, take messages, and route appropriately.

Files paperwork as directed.

Provides required data entry and word processing support.

Operates office equipment, including but not limited to, multiple phone lines, computer, typewriter, copier and facsimile machines.

Distributes and retrieves reports and correspondence.

Furnishes general information to the public.

Travels for agency business using personal/agency vehicle.

Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.

Works evenings and weekends as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum one year of general office experience.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software. Ability to accurately type 35 words per minute, based on assignment.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Bilingual English/Spanish or other secondary language (e.g. Hmong, Lao, etc.) required based on assignments.

Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and adequate auto insurance as required by State law.

May be required to pass background investigation including medical examination and TB clearance, acceptable criminal record statement, Department of Justice fingerprint clearance, and child abuse index clearance as needed by assignment/department requirements.
