The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) is a not-for-profit, independent certification organization whose primary purposes are to establish and monitor a national certification system, and to identify those counselors who have voluntarily sought and obtained board certification. The organizational mission is to advance counseling as the premier certification body of the profession with a vision of enhancing society worldwide through quality counseling. NBCC and Affiliates is comprised of three organizational affiliates: the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE), and the NBCC Foundation (NBCC-F).

NBCC and Affiliates has operations and partnerships in 40 countries providing certification, training programs, and public health services through institutes and residencies. Over 66,000 Board Certified Counselors serve the public and advance mental health efforts across the globe. With a portfolio of nine credentials related to professional counseling, mental health, addictions, human services and career development, NBCC and Affiliates seeks to expand the professional capacity of counselors and human service professionals. NBCC is focused specifically on credentialing, certification and quality assurance, while CCE focuses on providing education and training opportunities and leveraging credentials to best serve communities. Additionally, CCE provides organizational management services for associations, boards and other management clients. The NBCC Foundation engages in capacity building, seeking to expand access to mental health services in underserved and never-served communities and increase the accessibility of high quality professional development resources for counselors.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position provides web development support to NBCC, Inc. and Affiliates by working with our IT team and our clients to achieve our business’ digital media goals.  A hands-on professional with an ability to translate our business needs into client-friendly functions that will expand our website’s influence in our industry. The .NET Developer will be responsible for updating our current websites, web applications, and web services.

  • Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our websites
  • Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply
  • Communicates with others as directed on behalf of the IT Director
  • Assist department in estimating client IT proposals
  • Assists with special projects and events as directed
  • Create and update website with a high degree of quality
  • Present and defend designs and key deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
  • Implement and maintain high-quality SEO policies and incorporate them with content produced for the website
  • Establish and promote coding guidelines, best practices and standards
  • Collaborate on code reviews to ensure quality of code base
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in .NET Web Development
  • 5+ years experience with C#, WCF/ Web API services, MSSQL, .NET Core, and ASP.NET
  • Deep expertise and hands on experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery
  • Knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Platform • Experience Entity Framework and LINQ
  • Proficiency developing in Visual Studio
  • Experience in hosting applications on Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with Git Repositories
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Expertise in managing projects with Azure DevOps
