Description

Power Line Services, Inc. (PLS) is a leading provider of high-voltage transmission, substation, and distribution construction and maintenance services. PLS provides the industry expertise, resources and experience necessary to perform electrical transmission and distribution construction services, as well as construction and commissioning of substations, for utilities, regional cooperatives, municipalities, and renewable energy developers.

PLS is currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to manage Transmission line projects. This is a full-time, exempt position at PowerLine Services' headquarters in Irving, Texas. Travel is required.

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for leading the execution of midsize and large utility construction projects through project planning, design, material procurement, construction and close out. Essential functions of the job would include:

  • Participating in the preconstruction phase, including estimate development and project plan development
  • Ensuring the completion of project deliverables while maintaining project costs to remain within budget
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for the customer, ensuring the project is on schedule and customer needs are met
  • Maintaining communication with operations to ensure understanding of and adherence to the project scope and schedule
  • Coordinating with all vendors and subcontractors
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving any problems that arise on the job
  • Providing company management with consistent communication regarding project status and performance

Position Requirements

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience managing construction projects.
  • Experience managing Transmission Utility construction projects preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, construction management, engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, is essential.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills are necessary, as well as the ability to successfully work under minimum supervision.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and motor vehicle check, and a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
