PRIMARY JOB OBJECTIVE
To be customer driven while providing friendly, efficient and accurate check out services.
KEY JOB TASKS
Greet all customers in a friendly and professional manner. Ensure that their shopping experience was pleasant and that the desired goods and services were available. Provide customers with information such as specials and the availability of gift certificates etc. Always thank the customers at the end of the sale. Refer all complaints and concerns to department’s supervisor. Assist in any other duties assigned by the store supervisor where deemed necessary to assist in the smooth day to day operations of the store.
Handle all cash desk related equipment, check-out and cash processes according to the established standard operating procedures. Maintain adequate change for tilts; always keep cash at required levels. Report all price errors and inventory concerns to the supervisor immediately. Honestly account for all transactions at the end of each shift.
Assist in Profitability
Report any suspicious activity. Use bags and cleaning supplies efficiently. Ensure that items are being rung up accurately to avoid over and under ringing. Report equipment concerns, assist in the cleanliness of the Front End and promptly report any hazards such as wet floors or spills.
Maintain the company standards for dress code and personal hygiene. Do not eat, drink or chew gum at the cash desk. Keep conveyor belts and areas surrounding the cash desk clean and sanitized at all times.
