Description

The Energy Management Department in Cupertino, CA, invites applications from qualified PhD candidates for spring internship position starting in January 2019. The internship project includes research on Grid-scale markets related to Regulation Capability/Performance, Synchronized and Non-synchronized reserves focused on operation of renewable generation and energy storage systems. The successful candidate is expected to develop an energy management system for grid services that relies on power system dynamics, deep learning and market rules.

 
Position Requirements

• PhD candidate in CS/EE/ME or equivalent
• Understanding of ISO/RTO operation is must
• Expert Knowledge of AI techniques for forecasting applications
• Solid understanding of Optimization methods
• Excellent programming skills (Python and C++) for deep learning and Optimization implementation
