Share Email Opening Title Security Engineer L3  Description POSITION SUMMARY: BASIC FUNCTION The Security Engineer L3 (GRC Specialist) responsible for ensuring that the information assurance and security requirements necessary to protect the company, customers, employees, and assets are adequately addressed in all aspects of the systems, network, practices and procedures, and all other information systems architectures. The Security Engineer serves as the liaison between physical security and the IT Departments and advises the Vice President of Information Technology and Sr. Director of IT Assurance on a range of Information Security, Governance, Risk and Compliance related issues. Regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Shares and discusses RagingWire products and services both internally and externally with employees, management, auditors, vendors, clients, etc. Analyzes and detects security incidents and problems. Briefs and educates senior management and employees on policy, policy adherence, and the current security posture. Develops partitioning methodologies, policies, and processes to ensure that Information Technology systems remain inviolate and are maintained in maximum accordance with policy and the law. Ensures IT architectures, practices, policies, and plans align with company's business goals and all applicable regulations and security best practices. Works with other architects to gain consensus for implementation of security practices that enhance the ability to work while minimizing the impact on productivity and/or capability. Manages risks associated with information and IT assets by developing and documenting appropriate standards, practices, and security policies. Ensures that projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other and business and IT strategies. Builds employee knowledge and skills in specific areas of expertise. Analyzes the current system (operating systems, hardware, software, networks). Maps and documents the current information security environment. Ensures that all IT environments are maintained in the most current stable and secure state and never allowed to become obsolete. Generates the highest level of security requirements, based on the company's requirements, policies, applicable regulations and other constraints such as cost and schedule. Performs cost-benefit analyses to determine whether requirements are best met by manual, software, or hardware functions; makes maximum use of commercial off-the-shelf, open source, or already developed components. Selects new technologies while observing the various constraints such as cost, time frame and security. Informs and advises management on the current and expected information security posture. Generates products such as sketches, models, an early user guide, and prototypes to keep the user and the engineers constantly up to date and in agreement on the system to be provided as it is evolving. Draws up a development and integration plans. Builds test environments, and pilot deployment. Interfaces with the design and implementation engineers and architects, so that any problems that arise during design or implementation can be resolved in accordance with the fundamental design concepts, and still meet user needs and constraints. Sources materials and negotiates with vendors for best pricing on projects and overall basis. Spearheads implementation and deployment of advanced and basic security systems as per design. Collaborative with a focus on Team participation and consensus building Stress management and ability to handle a fast paced, rapidly changing environment Ability to operate and maintain advanced security monitoring and analysis programs such as sniffers, scanners, and testing tools EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE A bachelor's degree in computers or information security required or equivalent work experience usually obtained with 7-8 years' related experience. Current or demonstrated progress toward attainment of CISSP, CISM,CRISC or CISA PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, bending, and lifting. Able to hear and speak into a telephone. Close visual work on a computer terminal, whiteboards, printed documents, and blueprints. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required to operate computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments. Lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs. WORK CONDITIONS Standard office; construction sites; confined locations with IT equipment; outside premises and perimeter of buildings and other facilities. Data Center environment with varying temperatures and loud noises. Extensive daily usage of workstation or computer.
