About the Organization SRG is a Washington, D.C. based restaurant company. We create original concepts and help real estate developers, hoteliers and commercial property owners enhance the value of their food and beverage real estate. Privately owned, it is led by industry veterans Desmond Reilly, Kristopher Carr, and Stu Damon. Founded in 1998 and repurposed in 2013, SRG’s core business is the development and operations of three restaurant concepts, The Walrus Oyster & Ale House, CHICKEN + WHISKEY, and doi moi all located in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. SRG is currently executing its full service and fast casual growth strategy.

Walrus Oyster and Ale House seeks a Busser for our high volume restaurant, bar, and patio at the Mall in Columbia! In operation since April 2018, we break the corporate mold in our selection of staff.

Position Requirements

Busser will report to the Restaurant Manager. He /She will also work directly with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Principals of Star Restaurant Group. The key responsibilities will be to:

  • Complete all side work including, but not limited to, rolling silverware, polishing glasses and marrying condiment bottles.
  • Ensure all tables are dressed appealingly with proper place settings, full condiment bottles and appropriate table menus.
  • Keep the server stations well stocked, with roll ups, glassware, condiments, etc. continually to help ensure a seamless shift.
  • Comfortably carry heavy trays of dishes for pre bussing and bussing tables to help keep a high turnover rate.
  • Reset tables properly and rapidly to ensure timely availability for guests.
  • Work with fellow bussers as well as servers, back servers, bartenders and managers to ensure a positive and memorable environment for our guests.
