Description

Walrus Oyster and Ale House seeks a Bartender for our high volume restaurant, bar, and patio at the Mall in Columbia! In operation since April 2018, we break the corporate mold in our selection of staff.

We celebrate individuality in appearance and demeanor, but require each of our team members to have a heart of hospitality. Creating a wonderful employee working experience is paramount to our culture. This ensures our associates will create the perfect experience for our guest.

 
Position Requirements

Bartender will report to the Restaurant Manager. He /She will also work directly with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Principals of Star Restaurant Group. The key responsibilities will be to:

  • Greet, serve, and communicate with guests through their entire visit to ensure a positive and memorable experience.
  • Maintain knowledge of the cocktail, wine, beer and food menus in order to explain the items to guests in an exciting way.
  • Properly mix, pour, and serve all drinks for not only the bar guests but restaurant guests as well.
  • Respond to guests’ questions while suggestively selling drinks, appetizers, specials, etc.
  • Work with other bartenders as well as with servers, bussers, back servers, and managers to create an enjoyable environment for our guests.
  • Enter guests' orders via POS system in a timely manner to ensure the night runs seamlessly.
