Cook aboard Schooner Brilliant 

Description

Mystic Seaport Museum is seeking a seasonal, full-time, experienced cook to manage the galley, provisioning and preparation of 3 meals a day for up to 12 people during our 10 week summer youth sailing program aboard the beautiful Schooner Brilliant. The Brilliant operates as a sail training vessel for 15-18 year old students upon the waters of southern New England. Participation with on deck activities is encouraged and is required during emergency drills. Sails will last between five to ten days. This position will begin in summer 2019.

 
Position Requirements

You must be at least 20 years old. A mandatory drug screen and background check are required.

The Museum's grounds cover 19 acres on the Mystic River in Mystic, CT and include a recreated New England coastal village, a working shipyard, formal exhibit halls, and state-of-the-art artifact storage facilities. The Museum is home to more than 500 historic watercraft, including four National Historic Landmark vessels, most notably the 1841 whaleship Charles W. Morgan, America's oldest commercial ship still in existence.
