Canine Companions for Independence North Central Region has been enhancing the lives of children, adults and veterans with disabilities since 1987. The North Central Regional Training Center, located just outside of Columbus in Delaware, OH, opened its doors in 1990 and serves 13 and a half states: everything west of Pittsburgh, Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. The North Central Region also serves our graduate teams living in eastern Canada.
SUMMARYThe Senior Development Director is responsible for managing the long-term regional fundraising plan and growing Canine Companions’ financial support through individual, foundation and corporate gifts as well as special events. They assist the Executive Director and provide leadership to the development team to oversee the identification, solicitation and development of community, local and regional funding sources. The position manages regional fund-raising events and related projects, monitors chapter activities, and has responsibility for soliciting gifts up to $100,000 with primary focus on gifts in the $5,000 to $25,000 range.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years of combined development leadership and fundraising experience in a nonprofit environment. They must have proven skills in successfully developing and implementing regional fundraising plans to achieve established goals. They must identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major donors, and have the desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
EDUCATION: BA degree or equivalent preferred
LICENSES: Accreditation in fundraising (CFRE) desired.
