The Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer is an electronics/mechatronic engineer in the Air Control Products department tasked with the design, debug and validation of electronic circuits and PCB designs for internal and external customers. This may include circuit design and simulation, worst case analysis, design reviews, circuit verification and EMC validation, design modifications, failure analysis and in some cases full design overhaul. The individual will help customers with components selection, improvement of product efficiency, and PCB design. The individual will be expected to work with the product development team and directly with the customer and may be called on to publish whitepapers and speak at tradeshows and other industry or company sponsored events.
Support product mechanization development.
Support Product Definition Document development.
Perform circuit analysis.
Create/maintain product schematic.
Identify & define new electrical parts, if needed.
Submit Request For Source for new electrical components.
Create/maintain hardware verification plan.
Create/maintain Performance and Verification Document.
Document EMC test setup (operating modes, loads, etc.).
Develop/maintain Electrical DFMEA.
Identify Electrical Special Product Characteristics (KPC/PCP).
Define hardware test software, if needed.
Define hardware-driven software requirements, such as short-circuit protection or special power moding.
Complete Electrical Peer Review.
Create layout floorplan.
Supply electrical information to ECAD for layout.
Support substrate layout.
Ensure electrical design is compatible with mechanical design.
Ensure electrical design is compatible with manufacturing processes
Support Layout design review.
Provide technical support for product builds.
Complete hardware checkout on early hardware from each build.
Perform development EMC testing.
Complete hardware verification per verification plan.
Resolve electrical failures on validation and at customer.
Complete Electrical Process checklists.
Build, provide and archive EMC test harnesses, simulators, exercisers & loads for validation.
Approve & participates in all setups for EMC validation tests.
Document electrical design changes according to the Change Request/Change Approval processes
