Slot Service Manager FT Third Shift: Cover letter & Resume required

Oversee the Slot Operation on a specific shift, working closely with all members of the Slot Management Team to ensure consistency in procedures and high performance levels throughout the entire department. Develop a cohesive team of dedicated Supervisors and Associates and ensure an atmosphere of teamwork and camaraderie, with Guest Satisfaction the number one priority.

Develop a Team of dedicated Supervisors and Associates whose main focus is Guest Satisfaction, including relationship building, service timeliness, and comfort for the Guests.

Personally perform and ensure Associate accountability for relationship building with Guests through the following steps: Always greet the Guest in a friendly fashion, ensuring eye contact and a smile. Take care of the Guest's needs. Say something pleasant as you depart.

Carry out Company and Department initiatives and priorities, and ensure focus and commitment by entire staff.

Provide leadership and direction for entire Slot Operation and throughout the organization.

Strive to improve and streamline departmental operations, through the continuous assessment of policies and procedures, work processes and program effectiveness.

Hire, educate, evaluate and develop all Associates, ensuring high expectations and performance levels. Provide appropriate tools and continued education to Associates for both personal and professional growth.

Mentor all departmental Band Members with the effort of achieving their continued growth and/or advancement. Actively seek and encourage Band Members to prepare for opportunities in Slot Operations.

Promote an environment of teamwork with all casino Associates, ensuring two-way communications and a collaborative effort within Slots and across departmental lines.

Ensure a strong communication network, in which Management Staff and Associates are well informed of all procedural changes, property information and department and company initiatives.

Responsible for the integrity of the Slot Operation and the accountability of company assets. Ensure adherence of policies and procedures by all Associates and follow through appropriately.

Ensure appropriate staffing levels according to business volumes and quickly respond to various factors affecting business levels and service needs.

Understand and ensure staff compliance with all gaming regulations (Federal, State and Band Statutes) and with Grand Casino internal controls, policies and procedures.

Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record and for presenting self in a professional manner both on and off property.

Must adhere to policies or performance of duties to ensure ongoing Title 31/BSA compliance.

Responsible for following all relevant DGR's.

Ensure all responsibilities are completed, and perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements


Directly supervise Assistant Service Manager and Supervisors on assigned shift; indirectly supervise the activities of Slot Service Associates.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.

Encourage mutual respect among associates by setting positive examples.

Maintain a professional reputation in the company and community.


High School Diploma or ability to pass our Basic Skills Assessment.

Four (4) years slot supervisory experience required or five (5) years of managerial experience in gaming (slots, table games, or cage) operations required.

Computer-literate with specific proficiency in Microsoft applications required.

Casino Management Certificate preferred.


Must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.

Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.

Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.


Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group situations, and to moderate-sized gatherings of associates, executives and/or community leaders.


Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference.


Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.


While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to:

Talk and hear;

See and adjust focus to include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision;

Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl;

Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.

Lift and/or move objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.


While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to:

A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).

A moderate-to-loud noise level (public areas).

Second-hand cigarette/cigar smoke.
