Sign Language Interpreter 

Description

1. Interpret classroom, administrative and social interaction as appropriate for students.

2. Provide voice to sign (expressive) and sign to voice (receptive) interpreting which may include a form of American Sign Language (ASL), Signing Exact English (SEE) and/or oral interpreting.

3. Establish effective working relationships with co-workers and staff; demonstrate and maintain positive interpersonal relations.

4. Perform other duties as assigned.

 
Position Requirements
  • Minimum Level III QAST certification
  • One year of interpreting experience in an educational setting preferred

About the Organization Tulsa Tech is the oldest and largest career & technical training center in OK. We are an independent public school district, with multiple campuses in the Tulsa County area. Our school serves secondary students from public school districts throughout Tulsa County, as well as private, parochial and home-schooled students. A significant adult enrollment is also served throughout the year in both full and part-time training programs. We also provide custom training programs for business and industry in NE Oklahoma. TULSA TECH'S ANNUAL SECURITY REPORT INCLUDES STATISTICS FOR THE PREVIOUS THREE YEARS CONCERNING REPORTED CRIMES THAT OCCURRED ON CAMPUS; IN CERTAIN OFF-CAMPUS BUILDINGS OR PROPERTY OWNED OR CONTROLLED BY TULSA TECH; AND ON PUBLIC PROPERTY WITHIN, OR IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TO AND ACCESSIBLE FROM, THE CAMPUS. THE REPORT ALSO INCLUDES INSTITUTIONAL POLICIES CONCERNING CAMPUS SECURITY, SUCH AS POLICIES CONCERNING ALCOHOL AND DRUG USE, CRIME PREVENTION, THE REPORTING OF CRIMES, SEXUAL ASSAULT, AND OTHER MATTERS.
