Our Team:

The Innovation Manager is responsible for planning, development and execution of brand strategy and tactics with a focus on product innovation, from conception through formulation and optimization and launch, in alignment with company vision and goals. As the subject matter expert and using strong data analysis skills, the Innovation Manager drives the cross-functional innovation and commercialization process, grows sales and delivers strong ROI on new and existing initiatives. Fosters collaboration across disparate groups, develops processes and workflows for excellent results.

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to help drive the discovery, development and activation processes.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for new and recently launched product lines. Define short and long-term innovation and product development strategies for assigned brand(s).
  • Work with the R&D team to support product and package development and reformulation as needed.
  • Monitor results of newly launched initiatives to ensure success in market and to gather key learnings for process or product improvement.
  • Add synergy within the Business Unit, Operations and Commercialization (Sales & Marketing) teams through leadership and direction.
  • Ensure on-time launch of commercialized products.
  • In collaboration with the Business Unit team, identify and explore strategic target opportunities to develop unique selling propositions for key stakeholders and consumers. This includes price, place and promotion within deliverable goals.
  • Collaborate on development and launch process to ensure timelines and expectations are met
  • Develop and utilize project charter and product briefs as necessary, to guide internal and external agents' activity to define and develop innovative, brand aligned products
  • Champion and manage key aspects of product development (PD) process as primary liaison and interface with, Business Unit, R&D and Ops team, for coordination of clean hand-offs and collaboration with cross-functional work groups to meet on-time commercialization.
  • Key process driver from ideation through formulation, manufacture and delivery of finished goods.
  • Successfully accelerate speed to market delivery from approval of charter to market introduction.
  • Interface with the brand, marketing and trade marketing teams to help execute impactful commercialization advertising, promotion and sales materials.
  • Develop, identify and drive workflows and tools necessary to improve PD process efficiency to ensure that critical deadlines are met, and direct improvements in speed to market.
  • Manage the lifecycle of identified products as appointed.
  • Manage resources to ensure alignment with the budget; works closely with Operations on costing, production, artwork, etc.
  • Lead up-to-date evaluation of consumer trends, new ingredients, newly published ingredient research, new products and the competitive environment.
  • Monitor and analyze new product performance across all trade channels and competitive landscape, and deliver comprehensive, accurate and timely internal reporting and recommendations for optimization to key cross- functional stake-holders.
  • Understand market opportunities and manage product lifecycle through the understanding of product forecasts, consumer trends, market opportunities and customer needs to 'stay ahead of the curve' in identifying and delivering profitable opportunities.
  • Make recommendations based on consumer and syndicated research and expertise.
  • Generate creative solutions to concept challenges.
  • Modify strategies to meet market and profit goals based on ongoing brand performance analysis.
  • What you bring to the team:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or related field.
  • Seven years of demonstrated, related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products including Word, PowerPoint; Advanced Excel abilities.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • MBA in Marketing, Business or related field.
