JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Business Systems Analyst will serve as a coordinator between the Specification and Design department, Contracts department, CCA department and IT on business specifications, implementation and support of Information Systems applications The Senior Business Systems Analyst will act as a leader in understanding business processes and requirements (Business System Requirements, Use Cases, Statement of Work or Scope of Work, etc.) and work with technical and non-technical internal resources to facilitate the creation of high level and detailed system requirements, and functional specifications. This position will be the key person on the project who understands the business process, propose technical solutions, and how to implement the proposed solutions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Analysis and Solution Definition
- Understands the business issues and data challenges of the Spec & Design, Contracts, and CCA departments.
- Develops Business Requirements Documentation, Functional Specifications, screen maps taking into account software ergonomics, and other process flows
- Works with MIS department to develop scope of work, schedule and budget
Technical Recommendation and Testing
- Leads, participates and provides guidance to the Business and functional units in developing testing, training and implementation activities.
- Ensures issues are identified, reported on, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner
- Works with the personnel of all of the aforementioned departments to identify required changes.
- Communicates needed changes to the development team assigned to the system requiring the change
Internal Operations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with users, team members, and management to drive consensus across multiple stakeholders.
- Awareness and focus on continuous improvement; seeks and is comfortable recommending change to
- continually increase efficiencies and performance to evolve current systems.
- Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible alternative business solutions with Management.
Leadership
- Ability to lead and coordinate people and activities at various Falcon Jet sites throughout a full solution lifecycle.
- Mentors those that are less experienced through informal channels, this includes assisting stakeholders to understand their role and set expectations for them during a project.
NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
As assigned by management in order to meet the various departments (Specification & Design, Contracts, CCA) needs or business objectives on an as-needed basis.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems preferred or at least 8 years of Information Systems experience
- Minimum of seven (7) years of related business analysis experience
- Proven ability to oversee projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technical skills and knowledge
- Advanced MS Office skills including macros
- Experience with Workflows (ex. SharePoint, OnBase)
- Experience with Document Management Software (ex. OnBase, Documentum, DocTec, etc.)
- Experience with Database Modeling and SQL, Oracle, or other RDBMS
- IS functional strategy definition / execution including project scope
- Experience conducting User Acceptance Testing with varied groups of users
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Project Management and/or Business Systems Analyst Certification a plus
- IT Development languages (HTML, shell, VB, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, etc.)
- Experience working with development teams developing 3-tier systems, apps, and web portals
- Database knowledge (SQL+)
- Experience with Dassault Systemes tools
- Experience training users
- Hardware knowledge
- Designing workflows (using Nintex is desirable)
- Working knowledge of French
