POSITION SUMMARY: Maintains and enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: * Maintain management guidelines by developing, updating and recommending human resources policies and procedures for all company personnel. Prepare and maintain handbook on policies and procedures. * Implement and annually update compensation program. Conduct periodic and annual salary/compensation surveys. Recommend, plan and implement pay structure revisions based on job evaluation and compensation surveys. Develop merit pool (salary budget). * Perform benefit administration to include annual re-evaluation of policies for cost effectiveness. Maintain employee benefit programs and inform employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit program to management, directing the processing of benefit claims, obtaining and evaluation benefit contract bids, awarding benefit contracts, designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs. * Develop and maintain affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations. * Hear and resolve employee grievances, counseling employees and supervisors. * Ensure legal compliance by monitoring federal, state and local requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, advising management on needed actions. * Conduct investigations, maintaining records and representing the organization at hearings. * Maintain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records. * Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. * Works closely with Human Resource Director, ensuring cross-integration of policies, procedures and best practices. |
