What are we looking for in a Project Manager?

The Project Manager for the Information Services department is responsible for overseeing Comprehensive’s various IS projects from development to implementation. In this role, the Project Manager works to devise solutions that meet agency needs, budgets, and goals by introducing new systems or features and optimizing the use of existing programs. This position will require frequent coordination and communication with technological & other vendors, relevant stakeholders, and Comprehensive staff. The Project Manager must be an effective communicator, collaborative, well-organized, and solutions-oriented.

Project Manager duties may include:

  • defining the missions, goals, tasks, resource requirements, technical specifications, and budget for various IS projects
  • resolving issues within and between projects and functional areas
  • developing functional specifications, deliverables, and timelines and monitoring progress on all IS projects
  • proposing timely, effective, and practical solutions to address agency needs
  • identifying and recommending improvements to existing operational practices and business processes
  • presenting reports to appropriate staff and management regarding the problems, plans, and resolutions addressed by a given project
  • delegating tasks and providing training, coaching, & feedback to all direct reports on the project management team within the IS department
 
Position Requirements

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
