TITLE: Research Coordinator

PROGRAM: Bloorview Research Institute

CONTRACT: Nov. 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019

FTE: Temporary Full-Time (1.00 FTE)

SALARY: $31.13 - $38.98

We are seeking a 1.0 FTE Research Coordinator in the Concussion Centre within the Bloorview Research Institute. The Research Coordinator, reporting to the Principal Investigator and collaborating with other research staff, co-investigators, clinical staff and external partners, will help support several research projects exploring clinical data from the Holland Bloorview concussion clinics in order to explore relevant research questions. This research is funded by the Holland Family Chair in Acquired Brain Injury. The research coordinator will be a member of an interdisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians focused on pediatric mild traumatic brain injury (concussion).

The Research Coordinators' role will involve supporting literature reviews; preparing and coordinating Research Ethics Board applications; creating and maintaining a clinical research database; and, supporting data collection, data entry and data. The Research Coordinator will also collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary clinical team to enable integration between clinical programs and research projects. The Research Coordinator may also have the opportunity to assist with concussion education initiatives and the research evaluation of community outreach initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating project timelines
  • Coordinating Research Ethics Board submissions
  • Data collection, entry, and analysis
  • Liaising and communicating with relevant clinical and research team members
  • Assist with manuscript preparation
  • General administrative and clerical functions to support project
  • Development of project materials and assistance with presentations
  • Additional duties assigned as required

Qualifications

    • Master's degree in relevant field (Rehabilitation Sciences, Public Health, Kinesiology etc.)
    • Clinical experience or demonstrated understanding of clinical process
    • Previous experience as a research assistant or project coordinator
    • Previous experience developing and coordinating Research Ethics Board applications
    • Experience working with SPSS/data analysis packages (specifically with large data sets)
    • Shows accuracy and attention to detail
    • Flexibility to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong communication skills and comfort speaking to and working with relevant stakeholder groups
    • Strong organization skills and accountability to deadlines
    • Has working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel
