Program Statement:

Matt Talbot Intensive Outpatient Program provides alcohol and other drug treatment for adult men and women who are residents of Cuyahoga County and who have been assessed and found eligible for an intensive level of care, typically with substance dependence diagnosis or stepping down from a more intensive level of care. Assessment, group counseling three (3) days per week for three (3) hours per day, individual counseling, case management, crisis intervention and urinalysis.

Job Summary:

The Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) will ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland. The CDCA will carry a ten cleint caseload in an intensive outpatient treatment modality. This position will complete assessments, facilitate group and indvidual therapy sessions, counseling, and case managment services.

Position Requirements

Requirements:

  • Combination of experience and education normally represented by a High School Diploma with 1-2 years relevant work experience required.  Have completed 40 hours of education in chemical dependency counseling/clinical methods.
  • Must have a CDCA certification.
  • Must have knowledge and experience working with alcohol/drug assessment and case management.
  • Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must possess group work skills.
  • Must have competent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of computers with familiarity of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with a team of professional staff desirable.
  • Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
