Control Center Operator I 

Description

Position reports to Energy Control Center Supervisor. Monitors SCADA, TV and MEAG computer systems for alarms and respond when alarms occur. Answers phones and radios, takes trouble reports and dispatches appropriate personnel. Operates various water system wells and hi-lifts, conduct water tests and adjust chlorine and fluoride settings. Handles cash, posts payments and effectively uses U-Bill system. Properly operates the various remote controlled trash compactors through Hydra. Tags electric crews to electric distribution feeders, operates breakers and assists with switching. Takes CNS trouble calls, uses Cablebridge system and CNS aspects of U-Bill.

 
Position Requirements Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must be ITS certified and have experience as an operator trainee.

Must be familiar with each department's policies and procedures.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Must be familiar with and able to properly use multiple phones, pagers and radio systems.

Must be competent with email, U-Bill, SCADA, MEAG, Hydra and Microsoft Office software.

Must be able to accurately complete various forms, documents and reports.

Must be able to load shed power and know the gas curtailment procedures.

Must be familiar with Gas plant and Sewer Treatment plant operations and monitor the plants.

Must be able to address a wide variety of customer inquiries, concerns and problems.


 
Physical/Environmental Requirements Mobility to work in typical office settings using standard office equipment is required. In addition, vision to read printed materials and computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Mental stress or pressure of this position is occasional.
