POSITION SUMMARY

JOB DESCRIPTION: Description: To complete the internal audits of the assigned casino. The auditor will conduct audits for compliance with Tribal/State compacts, NIGC requirements, and Tribal Internal Controls. Recommends corrected procedures/policies to ensure security and accountability of all company assets and financial records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Analyze all Gaming, Food, Beverage, and other revenues to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.
  2. Is responsible for observing and analyzing all departments to ensure company Policies & Procedures are adhered to.
  3. Reports to Internal Audit Director on Internal Control procedures deficiencies as established and authorized by Gaming Director and Controller and recommends improvements for deficiencies
  4. Has access to all sensitive areas when accompanied by the departmental management responsible and/or Security Guard
  5. Ascertains the reliability of accounting and other data produced within the Company
  6. Interviews and observes Casino employees as they perform their job duties
  7. Prepares work papers; submits written reports, summarizing the audit results to the Internal Audit Director, which is distributed and reviewed with the Gaming Commission and required Gaming personnel
  8. Displays a responsive, mature and professional manner in solving departmental requests, complaints and problems.
  9. Informs Internal Audit Director of significant problems or compromise of Internal Control Standards jeopardizing the achievement of objectives on a line management level.
  10. Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
  11. Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
  12. Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  13. Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
  14. Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
  15. Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

 
Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Multi-level Accounting experience
  2. Must have a good understanding of Casino floor and its operations
  3. Excellent time management, organizational, public relations and communications skills.
  4. Ability to resolve conflicts efficiently and professionally.
  5. Must be able to produce detailed reports as required by Management
  6. Ability to work flexible hours, rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Frequently required to sit for long periods of time.
  2. Frequent exposure to tobacco smoke.
  3. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree

Education Preferred:

Experience: Three years related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered as a substitute for degree requirement.

Computer Skills: Must have computer skills to produce spreadsheets, database archives with storage and retrieval support, word processing and file support systems;

Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
