We are seeking an IoT Solutions Developer for our corporate office in Chadds Ford, PA! The IoT Solutions Developer will be primarily responsible for the research & development, testing and deployment of mobile IoT related technologies. This role will create unique solutions to address industry and customer requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Designs and develops applications, integrations and dashboards related to IoT, building systems monitoring and analytics, and system automation
  • Tests and validates connections between IoT and mobile M2M environments
  • Keeps knowledge of IT and BAS technology current.
  • Integrates Building control systems with facilities management software platforms
  • Assists with requirements gathering and development
  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams, studying system capabilities, and writing specifications
  • Designs and integrates business processes with existing systems
  • Creating, analyzing and validating detailed functional and non-functional requirements
  • Performing functional and user acceptance testing for solutions
  • Design and review test cases
  • Perform code reviews as needed
  • Creating/maintain/reverse engineer data models that enable the understanding and documentation of data standards, metadata, and entity and domain relationships along with the flow of data across business applications
  • Evaluating the feasibility and performance of new technologies such as indoor positioning technologies

Secondary Functions:

  • Develop training documents and videos
  • Performs QA Testing and generates test reports
  • Assists with the implementation and deployment of the enterprise management platform

Position Requirements

Education/Experience Minimum:

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to an Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering and 1-2 years’ experience working on building automation or control systems integration preferred.
  • IT certifications like CompTIA (A+, Network+) and industry certifications for building control systems integration, building automation or software development are a plus.
  • Previous experience with PLcs, Bizagi, integration tools (Boomi, DGLux, node-RED, etc.) is a plus

Needed Skills:

  • Experience developing in a variety of protocols related to IoT
  • Thorough understanding of sensor and actuator functionality
  • Understanding of SOA, ESB, APIs and other integration techniques is helpful
  • Experience with Linux applications development and command line tools (in an embedded environment is preferred)
  • Experience with IoT implementations include device provisioning, security, real-time data analytics, and device communications
  • Understanding of cloud development environments including Azure and AWS
  • Experience with BACnet/Lon Works/KNX protocols and SOAP/XML/PowerShell/Niagara a plus
  • Understanding and comprehension of SDLC methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, Disciplined Agile, etc.)
  • Ability to read & understand: wiring diagrams, control theory and control concepts
  • Ability to quickly master new software and innovate
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, take direction, prioritize tasks and multi-task
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate well to team members, management and clients who are at different business and technical knowledge levels
  • Flexibility in schedule

  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors
  • Plan, design and architect solutions based on microservice techniques and principles
  • Working knowledge of R, Python, or any programming language used to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
  • Knowledge of principles of source control systems (Git, TFS)
  • Knowledge of MQTT, AMQP or similar real time messaging protocols
  • Signal Processing/Communications knowledge or understanding


  • Ability to drive and maintain a safe driving record
  • Valid state driver’s license (any in US)
  • In possession of appropriate paperwork to gain and maintain employment in the US
  • Ability to meet worksite security requirements
