Program Statement:

Catholic Charities is very excited to expand Substance Use Disorder Services to our Regional Counties. For over 50 years CC has been providing quality SUD Services in Cuyahoga County and our plan is to draw on this expertise to build an exceptional system of care in our Regional Counties. Our Lorain County Office has developed a new program that will initially provide counseling and case management services; with the hope of expanding to IOP services to respond to the growing need of clients and referral sources.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III will primarily work with adults referred through probation and other referral sources. The LCDC III will provide individual, group, and family counseling. This position will also advocate for program participants with courts, schools, treatment centers, and other service providers as appropriate.

Position Requirements
  • Combination of experience and education normally represented by a Master's Degree with 3-5 years relevant work experience required.
  • CCDC III, LCDC III, LICDC or licensure eligible.
  • Should demonstrate a high quality of practice and developing expertise in alcohol and other drug abuse or dependency field, and with comprehensive assessments for chemical dependency and psychosocial problems.
  • Prior adolescent chemical dependency assessment and case management, group and individual counseling with children in residential setting preferred.
  • Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships.
  • Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must have valid Ohio Driver’s License and reliable means of transportation for local travel.
  • Must be able to effectively and productively work with people of very diverse economic cultural and administrative backgrounds.
  • Must be able to work independently from general instructions.
  • Must have the ability to effectively prioritize and implement a variety of concurrent and varying activities.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, strong detail orientation and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Good working knowledge of computers and familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
  • Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
