Share Email Opening Title CNC Machinist  Category Skilled Trades   Description Job Purpose: Utilize CNC technology and equipment to develop custom, threaded products according to design specifications Duties: Perform CNC tasks and responsibilities in a shop specializing in thread with high use of lathe Perform duties and responsibilities on items as small as 1/2'' diameter up to 9' diameter Perform duties and responsibilities on item lengths 1' to 20' Level I: Lathe Operator Read micrometers, calipers and other measuring tools to measure parts within +/- .002 Make offsets Knowledge and ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints to design specified components Maintain an organized, productive, neat and tidy work area free of debris Level II: Lathe Operator/Set-up Responsible for Level I duties Use conversational programming for machine setup Use basic G code and be able to alter programs to meet design criteria Use appropriate and approved procedures for CNC Lathe setup including but not limited to: loading programs, Touch of tools, placing jaws on and boring them if required Level III: CNC Machinist Responsible for Level I and Level II duties Responsible for the set up and operation of both the CNC Lathes and the CNC Mill Responsible for proper use and operation of MasterCam to program the CNC Mill Responsible for setup and operation of the manual mill   Position Requirements Skills/Requirements: Minimum of 2 years job shop experience required Five (5) years’ experience preferred MasterCam experience and/or certification preferred Lift 50-70 pounds on a regular basis throughout workshift Safely handle small (1/2”) diameter pieces up to 9” diameter Prior experience with blueprints, offsets, basic G code required   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt   EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
