Aircraft Maintenance Technician 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs scheduled, unscheduled and special inspections in compliance with regulatory authorities and industry requirements and standards.

Troubleshoots and performs maintenance and repairs on aircraft and engines and a variety of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components and accessories such as propellers, starters, generators, fuel pumps, hydraulic pumps, actuators, wheels, tires, and brakes.

Troubleshoots and performs structural repairs to airframes, including sheet metal work, riveting, patching, and fiberglass/composite work.

Performs system troubleshooting and operational and functional checks; services oil, fuel and hydraulic systems; provides nitrogen and oxygen services; inspects and repairs pitot static systems and battery services.

Makes required work order entries for discrepancies and corrective actions.

Removes and installs aircraft components. Installs optional or adds equipment to aircraft.

Performs aircraft engine run and taxi, as qualified, to test system performance. Participates in maintenance operational check flights for systems performance, troubleshooting, and alignment.

Understands the operation of various airframe and power plant systems.

Ensures that calibration of all shop test equipment is accurate by using shop calibration records and procedures and reports discrepancies to supervision.

Assists and trains other technicians in repair of systems, structures, and engines.

Familiarizes other technicians with aircraft systems in areas of specialty.

Position Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years related experience on Gulfstreams, Challenger 300, Citation Sovereign, Falcon 900, Hawkers, and similar aircraft. Also experience on PW306, TFE-731, HTF7000 and BR710 engines.

Active Airframe and Power Plant license is required.

Must have practical knowledge of basic airframe and engine repair.

Must supply all tools necessary to perform basic job functions.

Must be able to travel up to 25%.

The ability to obtain a Love Field airport security badge is required.

The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
