Program Statement:

Medina Counties' Help Me Grow Home Visiting Program gives pregnant women and families the necessary resources and skills to raise children who are physically, socially, and emotionally ready to learn. the goals of the program are to 1. Improve maternal and child health. 2. prevent child abuse and neglect. 3. Encourage positive parenting. and 4. Promote child development and school readiness.

Job Summary:

The Home Visitor will ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland. The Home Visitor will work with young mom's and their babies to promote healthy child development and bonding between mother and child. This position is responsible for determining eligibility of families for the program; completing home visits, develop goals and facilitate parenting education activities. May also act as an advocate for program and clients.

Position Requirements
  • Combination of education and experience normally represented by an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development, Social Work or equivalent plus 1-2 years related professional experience.
  • Must be certified as a Home Visitor by the Ohio Department of Health within 2 weeks from date of hire.
  • Must have good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.
  • Must be able to form good working relationships with various resources.
  • Ability to work with diverse client population, community organizations as well as staff at all levels.
  • Knowledge of relevant community resources preferred.
  • Must have valid Ohio Drivers License and reliable means of transportation for local travel.
  • Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
