ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. Sources, selects, and qualifies electronic components used in avionics. Investigates alternate component technologies or suppliers, reducing cost and improving quality and reliability. Acts as technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers, determining new and alternate sources. Maintain component data in ERP system including qualification records/results/documentation. Coordinate failure analysis and corrective action activities on component parts. Interface with Design, Manufacturing, & Quality Engineering to provide recommendations on design for manufacturing related issues. Interface with Program Management and Purchasing to provide recommendations for obsolescence issues. Executes and manages Counterfeit Prevention System through: - Continuous training and updates to procedures, instructions, and tools
- Supporting both internal and external verification activities
Supports Obsolescence Management Process through: - Analysis and reporting of obsolete components
- Locating and qualifying alternate sources (including die banking)
- Managing validation process for components supplied from non-franchised distributors
Performs product obsolescence risk analysis for potential products for acquisition. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Prefer a 4 year degree in a technical discipline, plus a minimum of 8 years direct industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. IDEA-ICE-3000 Counterfeit Detection Certification preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift/manipulate up to 25 lbs. at times. Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. |
