Position Carpenter  

Position Summary:

The Carpenter is responsible for performing various trade work to complete the construction projects. This includes rough carpentry, finish carpentry, standard steel setting, metal finishes, and supervision, depending on the project scope. Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed; bringing problems to the attention of the Project Superintendent, Safety Director, or HR Manager.


Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Examines specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
  2. Installs structures and fixtures such as windows and moldings.
  3. Constructs building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
  4. Helps erect, level and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes.
  5. Installs finished wood work materials for the given job assignment.
  6. Identifies and offers solutions to problems.
  7. Supervises work crews, as directed
  8. Completes daily task work.
  9. Cleans work areas, machines, or equipment, to maintain a clean and safe job site.
  10. Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.


Supervision Received:

Specific Direction: Follows established work procedures. Receives periodic checks for performance. Refers unique questions/conditions to immediate supervisor.


Supervisory Responsibilities:
