Position General Laborer  

Position Summary:

The Laborer is responsible for performing a wide range of construction related tasks, from very easy to the extremely difficult. Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed; bringing problems to the attention of the Project Superintendent, Safety Director, or HR Manager.


Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Cleans and prepares construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards.
  2. Loads and unloads building materials to be used in the projects.
  3. Builds or takes apart bracing, scaffolding, and temporary structures.
  4. Operates or supervises equipment and machines used on projects.
  5. Assists craft workers with their duties, as requested.
  6. Follows construction plans and instructions from supervisors and completes assigned tasks.
  7. Identifies and offers solutions to problems, especially in the area of safety.
  8. Conducts daily checks of equipment and safe operation procedures.
  9. Ensures new employees are familiar with WBG safety procedures and training to ensure they understand the job.
  10. Cleans work areas, machines, or equipment, to maintain a clean and safe job site.
  11. Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.
  12. Possesses required small hand tools for the job, i.e.: tape measure, hammer, etc.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.


Supervision Received:

Specific Direction: Follows established work procedures. Receives periodic checks for performance. Refers unique questions/conditions to immediate supervisor.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

No supervision: No supervisory responsibilities.
