Electrical Engineer 

About the Organization Established in 1949 Swanson Rink specializes in mechanical and electrical engineering for mission critical data centers, airports and corporate clients. Our staff includes specialists in airport systems engineering (baggage handling, passenger boarding bridges, fueling and deicing), as well as fire protection, telecommunications, security and project management.

Purpose: Supports the Swanson Rink Aviation and Commerical market segments by providing Electrical Engineering for airports and commerical buildings

  1. Power design, including layout and circuiting of receptacles, miscellaneous equipment, mechanical equipment, and completion of panel schedules.
  2. Design of intermediate to complex electrical one-line diagrams.
  3. Short circuit and voltage drop calculations.
  4. Fuse and circuit breaker coordination studies.
  5. Lighting design, including lighting fixture selection, layout, circuiting, and controls for interior and exterior applications.
  6. Power design associated with UPS and generator support systems.
  7. Prepare studies on various electrical systems, identify options and potential solutions. Provide related cost comparisons.
  8. Development of specifications for the lighting and power systems.
  9. Review of contractor’s shop drawings and submittals.
  10. Conduct construction observations and prepare reports.
  11. Performs required design calculations.
  12. Coordinates and Collaborates with internally, with subconsultants and the client's design team.
  13. Exhibits expertise with local and national building codes. Demonstrates expertise in application of all applicable safety codes and industry standards.
  14. Assists in training/mentoring entry level engineers.
Position Requirements

Basic Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Electrical Engineering or Bachelor's Degree Architectural Engineering
  • Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering design for commercial or airport or related facilities
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; to express ideas; to share information; and to prepare clear, well-organized correspondence, reports and similar documents
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
Location Denver OR Phoenix  
Travel Requirements Travel will be required as needed.
