Description

Department: Retail Banking

Reports To: Assistant Branch Manager

SUMMARY:

  • Under the direction of Assistant Branch Manager, manages and oversees organization of daily activities of the teller line to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations in conformance with established bank policies and operating procedures.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Supervises tellers. Performs normal teller duties on a daily basis.
  • Provides on-the-job training and coaching for tellers on an as needed basis to ensure branch goals and objectives are obtained.
  • Monitors tellers to ensure compliance with bank procedures and policies. Issues written and oral instructions as needed.
  • Assists tellers with difficult customers and transactions.
  • Assists tellers in locating differences.
  • Is aware of and complies with CRA guidelines and policies and the bank's non-discrimination policy.

SECONDARY DUTIES

  • Assists Assistant Branch Manager in customer service related requests both in person and via telephone or electronic requests to ensure customers' requests are handled professionally and in a timely fashion.
  • Performs a variety of customer service transactions including account holds, stop payments, direct deposits, safe deposit rentals and opens new accounts.
  • Makes sure all teller stations are adequately stocked and ready for subsequent shifts at closing.
  • Conducts performance evaluations.
  • Performs other job related duties as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Up to six direct reports.
 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous cash handling experience and working with customers, including one to two years as a teller or in customer service. 
  • Good interpersonal and supervisory skills. 
  • Computer literate.
 
Hours Per Week 37.5
