POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Staffing Classification Specialist position is located at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH), Hawaii. The position provides support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the Human Resource (HR) Office to include developing position descriptions, providing classification advisories, and performing recruitment and onboarding.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the process associated with the tactical recruitment phase, such as developing job analysis/essential task statements, processing requests for personnel actions documents, assisting with large-scale recruitment efforts, and ensuring recruitment request packages are complete and ready for action.
  • Process personnel onboarding forms and the security of newly selected employees.
  • Input data in the HR tools and Onboarding Manager programs.
  • Provide advisory classification of positions using Office of Personnel Management position classification and job grading standards.
  • Work with the NAVFAC Pacific area of responsibility hiring managers to update, consolidate, and standardize existing and develop new project descriptions.
  • Provide training and guidance to the NAVFAC Human Resources Office staffing specialist and hiring managers on staffing, classification, and advisory services that will lead to better outcomes, more efficient/effective operations, and enhanced understanding of the processes at work in dealing with hiring managers, Department of Navy Office of Civilian Human Resources Stennis and San Diego, and the NAVFAC Center of Expertise.
 
Position Requirements

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A working knowledge of how to write and develop position descriptions, staffing, classification, and the onboarding process to bring new employees onboard that are in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management, Department of Navy Office of Civilian Human Resources, and NAVFAC rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Experience in Navy Training programs and writing Training Plans for development positions.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • United States Citizenship.
