Schedule Monday, October 29, 2018-Friday, December 7, 2018. 7 AM-5 PM, Monday-Friday(weather permitting); mandatory overtime as needed. Schedule may vary based on operation needs.  
Pay Rate $16.00/hr.

** Job Fair on Thursday, 9/20/18 from 3:00-6:00 pm **
**Public Works Service Center, 731 S. Lafayette Blvd., South Bend, IN **

SUMMARY
Perform manual labor on leaf crews pushing and raking loose leaves across the City.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Not applicable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list represents the types of duties required by the position. Other duties may be assigned as reasonably expected.
• Use hand tools such as rakes and lutes to move leaves for an entire shift.
• Keep work area and equipment clean.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Assume additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED
• Must have the ability to perform very strenuous work in sometimes extremely adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to be on your feet and walk for an entire shift.
• Knowledge of work crew practices, basic safety and traffic rules and regulations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

EQUIPMENT
Rakes, shovels, other hand-held tools.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to climb into truck beds, ability to push or pull equipment into position, and ability to perform very strenuous work including lifting up to 75 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Most, if not all, work will be performed outdoors, sometimes in extremely adverse weather conditions and/or environment.
