SUMMARY

The Assistant Systems Administrator will maintain, upgrade and provide support for client software, hardware, and network connectivity concerns. This candidate should be easily able to communicate technical issues and solutions to people with varying degrees of technical knowledge and assist with their needs in a courteous manner. The Assistant Systems Administrator is also responsible for helping with system infrastructure, including testing and repair of computer equipment, installing and updating software, imaging and deploying computes as well as other specialized assignments and event technical support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist with all help desk tickets and ensure timely response times, ticket documentation and customer satisfaction.
  2. Monitor the system daily and respond quickly to any service or security concerns.
  3. Provide technical support for any hardware and software issues that may arise.
  4. Conduct general maintenance of technical equipment and assist in upgrades and enhancements.
  5. Assist with the technical support for special projects and events throughout the organization.
  6. Ensure proper functioning and provide advance support for company's information processing systems.
  7. Support, training and deployment of company VoIP phone system, cellular phones, radios and all other communication devices.
  8. Assist with business operations with the utilization of information systems to improve efficiency where possible.
  9. Support all hardware computer systems (i.e. desktops, laptops, printers and LAN).
  10. Support all software applications used by the organization.
  11. Assist with the support of Internet Security, Messaging Systems and Software Security.
  12. Must be able to drive to alternate Opportunity Village locations as required during work hours.
  13. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner and ensure confidentiality is of the highest priority in all aspects of duties performed and all communications, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work with others as a cohesive team.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate, respond to inquiries and interpret instructions from management, contract representatives, staff personnel and workers with disabilities.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and count/exchange money.
  • Computer literate and a high level of technical intelligence.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Associate degree or higher in related field or certification in Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Required: 3+ years verifiable work experience in a technology service position.
  • Preferred: Advanced knowledge of MS Operating Systems, Windows 7 / 10, Windows Server 2008 / 2012 R2, Exchange Server, SQL Server, Network Administrator, LAN/WAN Administrator, Active Directory Administrator, MS Office and VMware.
  • Required: Valid driver’s license with clean record.
  • Preferred: Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
