The McMaster Autism Research Team (MacART) is a partnership between McMaster Children’s Hospital, Hamilton Health Sciences, and McMaster University that aims to bridge the research-to-practice gap in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). MacART is designed to foster collaboration among the families, researchers, clinicians, educators, and policymakers whose lives and work are touched by ASD. About the Position Seeking candidates with an interest in advanced research in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or someone who wishes to develop a career in pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders. The fellow will work alongside an interdisciplinary research team with a mandate for research with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and related neurodevelopmental disorders. This position is for Israeli fellows who want an experience in Canadian Research Autism Centres, as the selected candidate will spend most of their fellowship time in Ontario. The fellowship involves a collaborative component with a Canadian postdoc who will be in Israel for the same time-period, on an overlapping research experience. Key Responsibilities - To contribute to the conduct of research studies in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related neurodevelopmental disorders, with a focus on early detection and early intervention including parent-mediated intervention.
- Have a familiarity with statistical/analytic methods
- Prepare summaries and presentations for multiple audiences and write peer-reviewed publications
There will be no formal clinical commitments associated with this post. The post-holder will be able to attend Bloorview Research Institute activities, rounds, lectures, and out-patient clinics of relevance at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehab , McMaster University, and McMaster Children’s Hospital. The supervision for this position will be shared by both researchers at Holland Bloorview and McMaster University and the McMaster Autism Research Team (MacART). Qualifications - Ph.D. in Psychology or related field
Experience/Training - Clinical experience in ASD or related specialties an asset
