SUMMARY

Range Support Specialist will be responsible for the safe transportation of munitions, distribution, and accountability and student transportation to all required training events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide ammunition and explosive transport to and from off-site training events were live fire exercises are conducted
  • Manage the coordination of material/work sequences/schedules to support operations and transport ammunition in support of training event and disposal
  • Ensure vehicle is in safe operating condition and all applicable vehicle inspections are conducted prior to movement of ammunition/explosives
  • Conduct pre/post inspection of vehicle and all equipment in order to minimize downtime and increase productivity
  • Provide reports to supervisor as required
    Assist with cleaning of all supplies and equipment in preparation for use during other training events
  • Maintained stock records and documents, material control and ammunition/explosive reports as required
  • Thorough knowledge and strict adherence to all safety rules and regulations
 
Position Requirements

• Preferred Military background in U.S. Army Infantry (MOS 11 series), Engineer (MOS 12 series), Special Operations (MOS 18 series) organization and training and Logistics (MOS 92 series).
• Subject Matter Expert of DA Pam 385-64, DA Pam 385-63, AR 75-1, USAIC regulation 210-4 and USAIC reg. 350-1 corresponding technical manuals required for the safe use and operation of the combat platforms and equipment they will operate
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 1-year experience of handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
• Minimum of 5-years’ experience of with Army ammunition
• Minimum 2 years of ammunition inventory management and transportation required
• Certification to handle and transport a wide variety of munitions: (i.e. M9 - 9mm; M4 - 5.56mm; M249 - 5.56mm; M240B - 7.62mm; AT-4 & Carl Gustav - 9mm sub-caliber round;.50 cal MG - .50 cal; MK19 - 40mm; M320 - 40mm; HG Fuze; Pyro-tactics - Smoke, Star Cluster, trip flare, artillery simulator, grenade simulator; Mortar - 60mm & 81mm etc.)
• Must possess and maintain a current, valid Driver’s License and/or a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Must possess and maintain a current, valid Commercial Driver’s License for ammunition explosives transport
• Hazmat Certification
• Thorough knowledge of TRADOC regulations and policies pertaining to ammunition
• Thorough knowledge of logistics supply to support training in a TRADOC comparable environment while working with student population
• Proof of citizenship
• Able to meet Government background investigation requirements
