We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail oriented Accounting/Payroll Clerk. This multi-faceted role will assist in the administration of semi-monthly payrolls for 500+ exempt and non-exempt employees in a multi-state environment. It will also be responsible for assisting in processing invoices to customers and receiving payments from customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and processing of semi-monthly payroll for over 500 employees in 10 states; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets
  • Validate confirmed reports - including vacation and sick time
  • Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system
  • Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization
  • Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and supervisors
  • Knowledge wage and hour law compliance
  • Prepare reports for upper management and finance department
  • Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, accounting and other departments to ensure proper flow/maintenance of employee data.
  • Preparing Invoices and entering them into multiple systems
  • Assigning costs to appropriate entities
  • Audit and Review Payroll, A/P and A/R entries and statements
  • Reconcile departments accounts monthly
  • Updating ledgers, researching and resolving discrepancies
 
Position Requirements

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required. Coursework in Accounting, Business or relevant field is a plus
  • One to Two years’ experience in payroll is required. Multi-state experience is a plus.
  • Proven background in accounting –understanding of accounting fundamentals and demonstrated knowledge of payroll and accounting best practices
  • Proficient in MS Office and knowledge of relevant software and databases
  • Ability to handle confidential information in an appropriate manner
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with QuickBooks Required, Ascentis, or any other HRIS programs is a plus
